Raiders News · Boys Track and Field Improve to 3-1 with 91-45 win over Barringer


The Nutley Raider Boys Track and Field Team improved their dual meet to 3-1 with a 91-45 win over the Barringer Bears. Using the same tactic, putting bodies in every event,  that the girls use, the Raiders scored in every event but two and swept five events.  The Raiders saw Nick Duca(800 meters and 1600 meters) and Brian Grodzki(400 and 110 hurdles) win two events to help secure the dual meet win.

Scoring for the Raiders were:

3200 meters- Sean Bernardo(10:53.9), Abhi Dixit(11:04.5) and Anish Kumar(11:28.8)

400 IH- Brian Grodzki(1:14.2) and Raj Pagdahl(1:17.0)

100 meters- Anthony Gola(11.7)

1600 meters- Nick Duca(4:56), Sean Bernardo(4:58), Vinny Marinaro(4:59)

400 meters-Nick Kirby(55.0), Kyle Schoch(59.0) and Karam Youseff(59.2)

110 hurdles- Brian Grodzki(20.9) and Raj Pagdahl(21.2)

800 meters- Nick Duca(2:12.5), Luca Vespa(2:13.2) and Aiden Hamlin(2:22.9)

200 meters- Anthony Gola(23.8)

Pole Vault- Dante Fequiere(7-6) and Charlie Contini(7-0)

Long jump- Matt Durham(19-4)

High jump- Matt Durham(5-10) and  Brandon Defluri(5-2)

Shot put- Leo Ulloa(35-7.5)

Discus- Leo Ulloa(72-8)

Javelin- Joe Sasso(128-0), Kevin Zhang(115-3), and Brandon Defluri(113-3)

Next up for the Raiders will be the Ranger Relays held at the spacious Walkill Valley Regional High School.  The Raiders will then host the Millers from Millburn at Demuro Park Monday at 3:59PM.  Rumor has it that Coach McNish will be signing autographs up to a half hour before the meet.
